Machu Picchu, “New Wonder of the Modern World”, located at 2.450 metres, was discovered by the American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. Since then, it is the most important and most visited archaeological site in South America. We will pick you up very early at your hotel (at 6am) to go by bus to Machupicchu citadel, from where you will take a journey for three and a half hours to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the "Lost City of the Incas", today “a New Wonder of the Modern World”. Afterwards there is free time to stroll around the citadel, taking pictures (or films). Then we return to “Machu Picchu Town” to take our lunch, before getting on the train back. It will be around 6:00 pm when we will board the train to the village of Ollantaytambo, where a bus is waiting for us to bring us back to Cusco. You will be back in your hotel in Cusco around 11pm.
